The Xiaomi Mi 8 uses the same camera module as the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Thus it sports the Sony IMX363 sensor. DxOMark gives a score of 99 points. It’s more than the iPhone X’s result by 2 points.

The IMX363 unit area is 1.4 micron. It supports Dual PD full-pixel dual-core focusing and 4-axis optical image stabilization. The rear sub-camera is used to achieve 2 times lossless zoom. In the portrait mode, this ‘telephoto’ sub-camera will also make the picture look more transparent. By the way, the same Mi MIX 2S scores 97 points at DxOMark.
